Let’s imagine the creative potential of Laminex benchtops. We’re developing Laminex laminates to work in new and innovative ways that are pushing us forward and challenging old perceptions. These are silica-free solutions for modern homes with modern materials that perform as well as they look.
As a benchtop, Laminex can withstand all that life can throw at it, joining celebrated materials such as stone and stainless steel. And now with Laminex InvisiEdge ABS edging, seamless joins can be achieved to create monolithic-like slabs in your favourite colours and finishes. Laminex TrueScale brings amazingly lifelike, no-repeat stone patterned laminate to the market in authentically big sizes. Matching many of its premium contemporaries, even surpassing them with its stain resistance and protective qualities, Laminex AbsoluteMatte delivers fingerprint resistance and antibacterial protection, with a luxuriously tactile, matte finish.

What is HPL
High-pressure laminate (HPL) has been one of Australia’s most popular benchtop options for decades. And Laminex has been at the forefront of technological advances that have seen it evolve into an incredibly hardwearing and visually stunning surface material perfect for the modern home. Laminex HPL is made from layers of sustainably sourced kraft paper saturated with special resin and compressed at high temperatures, forming a durable decorative surface suitable for horizontal surfaces. The Laminex Colour Collection includes an incredible array of colours and textures, created specifically for Australian design preferences. And the laminate is made right here in Australia too.
Laminex Lux Elba TrueScale (Digital Edging ABS Edging) benchtop and Peruvian Clay joinery. Laminex Oyster Grey (InvisiEdge ABS Edging) benchtop and Aged Ash joinery. Laminex Spinifex AbsoluteMatte benchtop and joinery with timber edge and Aires in AbsoluteMatte joinery.
The Look
Laminex laminate is very easy for cabinetmakers and fabricators to work with and can be used in different ways to achieve dynamic design outcomes. For example, it can be crafted to create the impression of an extra-thick benchtop by wrapping the laminate down the front of your cabinetry, it can be formed over curved surfaces and ABS edging, in colour-matched or contrasting tones, can be added as a seamless, design feature.
Our three new kitchens shown in these pages include many of these design details and have been utilised to demonstrate their effectiveness and practical advantages, whether it be stone-like finishes and edges with stain resistance or durability or wonderfully minimal benchtops that exude sophistication and timelessness. With an incredible array of colour and texture, the Laminex Colour Collection has whatever look you’re going for. Rest assured, Laminex laminate can be used to make it happen.
The Range
No matter the interior style you’re working towards, you’ll find a Laminex laminate decor to fit perfectly. The expansive Laminex Colour Collection includes classic and contemporary solid colours, from whites and soft pastels, via the very popular rich neutrals and organic green tones, to bold accents and blacks. There are also highly authentic woodgrains, minerals and concretes and thanks to remarkable advances in technology, decors that replicate the look of natural stone without repeat from our TrueScale range. A variety of finishes add tactility and distinct visual effects, and our ultra-matte, Laminex AbsoluteMatte brings a supremely luxurious look and feel to any space.
The Cost
Laminex laminate is a cost-effective benchtop material. And with premium products like Laminex AbsoluteMatte in the range, it includes options to fit into a wide range of budgets. The material itself is very easy for cabinetmakers to work with, which means that fabrication and installation generally costs less than other materials.
The Durability
Laminex HPL is famous for its longevity as a benchtop material. It’s resistant to impacts, scratches and stains, as well as UV light, so doesn’t fade in normal interior conditions. It’s also water resistant and, while you need to take care to not place hot items straight from the oven or cooktop onto the laminate surface, it’s fine for the material to be applied alongside these appliances. Importantly, Laminex laminate is also very easy to keep clean, so it will stay looking pristine day to day, and for many years to come.
Edging Options
Laminex Benchtops take on amazing new dimensions with the addition of InvisiEdge ABS edging. Featuring a pre-applied functional layer, the result is a much superior and seamless join between the band and board. Digital Edge ABS edging allows you to create a more realistic stone edge on your Mineral benchtop. Alternatively, craftsman-like finishes can be achieved by applying a timber edge trim for maximum impact as it’s seen here as a trim to complement Laminex Spinifex in AbsoluteMatte. Speak with your designer or fabricator to achieve extraordinary benchtop results, such as these.
